NAME: Kirby Superstar SYSTEM: Super NES MAKER: Nintendo/HAL PRODUCER: Shigeru Miyamoto GENRE: Potpourri GRAPHICS: 8. Well-animated and uses a good deal of the SNES's power MUSIC: 8. Cutesy sometimes but shockingly cool others FUN: 10. What did you expect from Kirby? REPLAY: 6. Finding all of the Cave Offensive's treasures is hard DIFFICULTY: 4. Okay, so maybe this was obvious ENDING: 6. Kirby is really insane about stars isn't he? STORYLINE: 5. Uhh... okay... whatever you say, Marx... (snort) MULTIPLAYER: 10. The best way to play this, otherwise the helpers are too stupid to mention ORIGINALITY: 8. Eight of the nine games are completely original REALISM: 2. It's Kirby, duh CONTROL: 9. The only problem is not being able to fly with something in your mouth MATURITY: 2. Not a 1 because of the semi-cool music Kirby. The official "super-cute puffball" of Nintendo... or is he? Well it appears Kirby got a small make-over and is now "one tough creampuff." Some of the expressions and moves he has seem pretty fierce. But don't worry! This is still the same Kirby we all know and love (or hate, depending on your family life). He still sucks, he still blows (LOL LOL LOL). I'd have to say this is yet another great work of art by Miyamoto-san. The fun factor, which may not apply to die-hard challenge-seekers and bikers, is through the roof! This game can really be entertaining, especially if you have friends or family members (even parents) handy. The tutorials are a good way to learn the art of Kirby SS. And the sheer amount of moves, helpers, levels, etc is hard to grasp at first. Great game, but sadly, it's not for everyone. OVERALL: ********* 90% Reviewed on 11/20/1998
