My client has no comment at the time REALISM: 4. More than the other X's but still sprite-based of course CONTROL: 8. The upward air dashing could be a lot better MATURITY: 7. Once again, there are guns, robots, and rock The Megaman X series reached its prime on the SNES here. This game, first of all, is just so great to play that it makes you wonder if you're holding a SNES controller in your hands. Only problem is that the half-second windup on the upward air-dash is just long enough to grind the nerves a bit. And speaking of grinding, I might mention that one of the few enemies without a gun does just that. Almost all of the enemies have the ability to attack from a distance, almost doubling the difficulty. You'll get used to it. The graphics weren't improved at all from X2, which is a disappointment. The music was, however, and a little techno was thrown in for good measure. The ability to play as Zero, while limited, is great. This is the best the Megamans get on the SNES.
