NAME: Sonic & Knuckles SYSTEM: Super NES MAKER: Sega PRODUCER: Yuji Naka GENRE: Action/Platform GRAPHICS: 9. Sadly enough, as good as the acceptably fun Sonics get MUSIC: 7. Standard FUN: 10. You won't be disappointed REPLAY: 4. Maybe for the emeralds, or to see all the endings DIFFICULTY: 8. Can get fairly tough with Sonic ENDING: 5. Sub-standard, though there's a good amount of 'em STORYLINE: 2. Crap MULTIPLAYER: n/a (One-player) ORIGINALITY: 7. A Sonic game, but the Lock-On was really original REALISM: 4. Guess what?! CONTROL: 9. Gets insane at times, though the gliding and jumping is pretty precise MATURITY: 6. Probably no reason to lean either way Sonic & Knuckles. The epitome of the Sonic series, besides possibly Sonic CD. And probably will be until the Dreamcast comes out. If you like Sonic games, buy this now! The game by itself is okay, but the Locked-on games are spectacular! Sonic 2 locked-on is okay, though it's interesting to see where you can climb to. Sonic 3 is the cream of the crop. Playing as any character, saving, double the levels, Hyper Sonic/Knuckles, Super Tails... bliss, Sonic-style. The graphics almost look rendered at times, being the best-looking Genesis- only Sonic game (Sonic Blast was way better, but was also on the Saturn). The verdict: guilty of being too good of a game. It's not perfect, of course, and if you run through a few times then it starts to lose its appeal, but it's a good choice, and a must-buy if you own other Sonic games.
